The fiber separator is designed to remove as many guard hairs and vegetation as possible. Fibers such as llama, cashmere, buffalo and some alpaca require the fiber separator. If guard hairs are not properly removed they will cause product to be scratchy.

This is the 2head dehairing machine. It''s 25 inches wide. This machine is used primarily for taking the guard hair out of animals that have a finer undercoat, such as cashmere, camel, buffalo, etc. It is our opinion, that when fiber has been processed on our carding machine, because of the machine design, most alpaca doesn''t need dehairing.
